Will Maruti Swift Dzire 2015 (Facelift ) be India’s most fuel efficient car?

According to the report of Indian Hoods Swift Dzire(Facelift) will be announced soon and will be India’s most fuel efficient car, with mileage of 26.59 kmpl.

As per the brochure they’ve got, the Dzire retain the same engines.
However, the 1.2L petrol engine with a power output of 84.3 PS at 6,000 rpm and a higher 115 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.

It returns an improved mileage of 20.85 km/l (compared to 19.1 kmpl of the outgoing version).
The Dzire diesel meanwhile delivers an identical 75 PS at 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm at 2,000 rpm.

It returns an industry-leading fuel efficiency of 26.59 kmpl. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard on all variants; however petrol car buyers can optionally get the 4-speed automatic which returns a mileage of 18.5 km/l (up from 17.4 km/l).

Maruti improved the Swift’s fuel economy last year by tweaking the injection system, ECU mapping and switching the engine oil, and these measures are likely to be behind the Dzire’s performance improvement.

The Dzire facelift also gets cosmetic and feature additions. These include new bumpers, wheel, grille, headlamp and body colours, as well as a push-button start, Bluetooth telephony, electrically folding mirrors, keyless entry and rear power socket (on the top-end ‘Z’ variants).
