By recording a sell of 1.17 million vehicles with 11% growth
in last fiscal year, once again Maruti is going to repeat its impressive sales
performance this year. Chairman of Maruti R C Bhargava said that, the company
expects to post a double digit growth this year as well.
As Maruti is entering
new segments like compact SUV, Premium hatchback, mini SUV and
compact diesel
hatchback, it will be surely the part of this growth. Maruti is also looking to
expand the number of automatic transmission variants.
At Present Maruti is offering
automated manual transmission on the Alto K10 and Celerio, and automatic
transmission on the Swift Dzire and Ciaz. Maruti is already lining the launch
of a top-end Celerio ZXi AMT, which will be on sale in the coming weeks.
According to reports the ertiga MPV will undergo a facelift
in the coming few months may
launch with an automatic transmission. According
to sources an automatic transmission would make its presence on future models
like the SX4 S-Cross, YRA premium hatchback and YBA sub-4 meter crossover.
Talking about the diesel engine, Maruti is about to launch a
Suzuki-developed, 0.8 litre diesel engine on the Celerio in coming weeks. This
Engine may offer industry leading fuel efficiency (near 30kmpl)
