Maruti Celerio diesel with 27.62 kmpl to launch on June 3




Maruti Suzuki’s Celerio the first car with Suzuki’s first self developed diesel engine will be launching on June 3. The hatchback Celerio is having diesel engine with a two cylinder unit displacing 793cc. as published in articles and news Maruti Celerio will be India’s most fuel efficient car with an ARAI-rated mileage, and the mileage is 27.62kmpl.

          This is surely good news for people who are looking for fuel efficient cars. There is
no doubt that in a country where most of the people prefer to get a car which is affordable in price as well as fuel efficient.
With the launch of Celerio, Maruti will get another achievement of producing a car with the best mileage.


The engine of celerio is built for economy; it produces 47bhp at 3500 rpm and 125 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm.  The weight of Celerio is about 89 KG, it is having the lightest diesel engine in the passenger segment. Making comparatively lower torque, it has a higher torque / CC than the Fiat 1.3 liter engine which is in Swift.  In Celerio there is a hydraulic clutch, and a new 5 speed manual gearbox with low mechanical losses and these are the parts of drive train.


The Celerio diesel will be available in the four variants – Ldi, VDi, ZDi, and ZDi(O). The top end models will be available with safety features like ABS, EBD, and front dual airbags as well as driver seat height adjuster.
